In commemoration of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Jim and Fred feature sports photographer Ron Wyatt who photographed the Summer Olympics in Athens and Beijing. Ron discusses some of his sports images and relates the story of how and why he switched from Canon to Nikon one week before the Beijing Olympic Games! In addition to sports, Ron leads workshops for M&M Photo Tours and will shortly be traveling to Tuscany and in early 2015 to Tanzania. In the news, Canon is rates as the #3 company in innovation in 2013, Blackmagic releases their new 4K video camera for $1000 less than originally announced, and Sigma has made a major change to the Foveon chip.

In the news, Adobe has released a free update to Photoshop for Creative Cloud subscribers, and there is a rumor Adobe may be releasing a form of Lightroom for mobile devices. Also, Kevin Kadooka has published DIY plans to build a 120 film camera at http://kekado.zapto.org/kevin/open.html. Check it out and let us know what you think! Fuji has announced an upcoming DSLR style mirrorless camera for sports photography.

Welcome to The Fotobug podcast #95 featuring our guest, Gunther Wegner! Gunther recently released his latest timelapse file "African Skies 2" and also updated his software program LRTimelapse. You can see the entire video at www.lrtimelapse.com and while there, I recommend downloading a trial version of LRTimeLapse. In addition, you can download an HD or 4K version of "African Skies 2" and the funds help animal conservation in Africa.
Fred and Jim also show their "simple camera photos" taken with their cell phones and in the news, Sony and Nikon have announced new cameras, Sigma has a 1.4 50mm lens available, plus clever inventors have created a ball camera that takes 360 panoramic images.

Fred and Jim welcome back Maurice Ribble to show off his Air Flash. The Air Flash is an extremely fast strobe unit that can freeze bullets in mid-flight. Maurice has built a number of units in hopes of selling them, but is currently looking for a liability insurance company to underwrite insurance on the unit due to the high voltage. Maurice talks about the new unit and shows off some images he recently made with the flash.

In the news, the hack on Adobe's Creative Cloud effects 38 million users, Canon releases a firmware update for the Canon 5D MK III, the ION is a new sports camera, and OnOne Software is running a public beta program for their Photo Suite.

In the news, Adobe Creative Cloud was hacked and some customer information may have been compromised. Nikon releases the new D610 DSLR camera, Nat Geo photographers use the iPhone for image capture, the guys at Triggertrap are at it again and have a new development at Kickstarter, and SpaceX captures their rocket launch and landing using a hexacopter.
