Welcome to podcast #55. This week, Haje Jan Kamps, the Photo Critic, returns to bring us up to date on the Triggertrap and the Triggertrap Mobile. The Triggertrap products are devices (and an app!) that can trigger a camera based upon an event, such as movement, face recognition, sound, lightning, and many more. The systems are also capable of doing time-lapse photography and HDR. Haje always gives us a lively and informative interview and writes a photography blog at www.pixiq.com/contributors/haje and also has a number of new books on photography coming out. Haje also has a special announcement about a new online photography education resource is is developing. You don't want to miss this interview! In the news, NASA releases a new startrails time-lapse photo, Canon has announced a firmware update for the new 5D Mk III and the 60D, Schneider Kreuznach, said it will begin making lenses for mirrorless cameras, Intel announced 'A Memory Lapse' competition for time-lapse and slow moton clips with $50,000 in prizes and Nokia has shown an app featuring photographic features unlike anything currently featured in compact cameras. Jim also shows off some new updated features for the GoPro Hero2 sports camera and discusses a new sports camera, Ion Air, that has just come on the market. Workshops coming up include The Black Hills Shootout which is quickly selling out and you can register at www.bhsu.edu/Default.aspx?alias=www.bhsu.edu/blackhillsphotoshootout. Better hurry! Jim will be leading four workshops this year and Rick Sammon is the keynote speaker. Sorry, but the Bushnell DSLR Video workshop is full, another will be scheduled soon. There is still time to sign up for the Iceland Northern Lights workshop for February 2013 at www.outdoorphotoworkshops.com.
